This page is intended to keep members and supporters informed about our recent activities. 

 

• September 26, 2007: The Daoist Foundation is recognized as a non-profit religious and educational organization by the state of Washington.

 

• November 5, 2007: The Daoist Foundation files for federal recognition as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization and public charity.

 

• November 11, 2007: The Green Cove Daoist Association holds its first community gathering and public talk, entitled "Beginnings in the Way."

 

• December 22, 2007: First meeting of the Board of Directors of the Daoist Foundation.

 

• January 30, 2008:  Under the direction of Dr. Louis Komjathy, members of the Daoist Foundation complete an American edition of the Quanzhen liturgy.  View liturgy.

 

• February 4, 2008: The Green Cove Daoist Association begins offering holistic and integrated Daoist training, which includes the first Kundao (Women's Way) teachings. See offerings and events calendar.

 

• March 21, 2008: The Daoist Foundation receives federal non-profit (501[c][3]) and public charity (170[b][1][A][vi]) status.

 

• March 24, 2008: Under the direction of Dr. Louis Komjathy, the Daoist Foundation publishes the Daoist Precept Manual (Wandering Cloud Press, 2008) as a guide to Daoist ethics for community members.

 

• May 1, 2008: The Daoist Foundation publishes Daoist Quiet Sitting (Wandering Cloud Press, 2008) by Dr. Louis Komjathy as a guide to Daoist meditation for community members.

 

• June 18, 2008: Through the generous contributions of Susan Cox and Frank Biancalana and other members of the community, the Daoist Foundation acquires an 8-volume calligraphic rendering of the Daode jing by Cao Zhihong 曹志洪.  This is the first acquisition of the Legacy Collection.
