Daoist Studies Summer Seminar
Join us for a remote 5-day intensive Daoist Studies Summer Seminar, with a specific focus on developing a tradition-based approach to Daoist study-practice. The seminar is scheduled from Monday, July 11 to Friday, July 15 from 10am-4pm each day. In this seminar, Dr. Komjathy will share his expertise as a leading scholar-practitioner of Daoism and translator of Daoist literature. The seminar will take participants through foundational understanding of Daoist history, Daoist literature, as well as models of Daoist practice-realization and associated lifeways from an applied, lived and practical perspective. In the process, we will give particular attention to “Daoist being,” including the opportunities and challenges for finding the Way in un- and even anti-Daoist contexts. One dimension of this involves a contemplative inquiry about our own affinities, aspirations, and commitments. The seminar thus aims to facilitate more authentic Daoist practice and community as well as more intentional spiritual guidance, among both students and teachers. No prior experience necessary. All are welcome.
